My wife and I really enjoyed meeting you at Bertram's. Your pleasantry helped win over my wife and she had a chance to see me around my passion.....fountain pens. For years, she's seen the pens in my home office or my taking them to work. She had no idea of the complexity. Your explaining the adjustments to me today, also educated her! Hey JC, the burgundy Montblanc Solitaire you did for me at Bert's is working great, can't put it down this morning. One thing that really stuck with me though when you were grinding it and I was trying your testers is the architect grind. It seemed to have all the character of a cursive italic, but without the additional feedback. I would argue it had a little extra character, there was just something I really liked about it.

Thanks for your help a couple weeks ago (at Bertās shop) where you opened up the crashed tines on my old classic (made in W. Germany) Pelikan M800, and you ground me a lovely crisp architect out of a new broad M600 nib. Then, again, yesterday, you closed up a splayed nib on a NOS Pelikan M300 that I have struggled with since I bought it over a year agoā¦

DC Pelikan Hubs
A highlight from the Pelikan Hub was getting this music nib up and writing nicely. JC @thenibtailor was so patient with tuning it to write for my hand. I was super impressed he inspected my writing as well as the nib to see where things were going wrong.
Writing with the nib these past 2 days has been a completely different and pleasant experience! I'm thrilled.
Fountain Pen Day at Penny Post
So, we know JC to be a killer nibmeister, as seen with the amazing Naginata grind he did on a recent pen of mine. But then I asked him to simply tune a black ruthenium layered nib because it wasn't writing well. This nib has become my daily writer because it starts immediately every time. What I thought might be a simple smooth and tune is actually what JC perfects each time he works on a nib. Thank you, dear friend, for making my writing experience!

The Nib Tailor worked on two pens for me. One was a medium-to-an-architect grind, and the other was tuning of an extra fine Sailor nib that was so scratchy and dry, I was ready to toss it! It is now smooth and so much better! Better ink flow. JC is responsive and accommodating. I would not hesitate to send more pens to him! Thanks, JC!

Bertramās Inkwell In-Store Event
āJC worked on my Armando Simoni Club Nefertiti fountain pen with a #8 nib at Bertram's Inkwell about 10 days ago. I was reluctant since I've only used a nib meister once years ago (not JC) and my fine point was converted to a medium point by mistake. However, JC did an exceptional job on this pen. It was a very wet nib that wrote a medium/broad line. I tried various inks without much improvementā¦.
ā¦JC also figured out a problem with another ASC that had dried ink inside.
Prices were very very reasonable. The expertise was exceptional and I will definitely only use JC for future nib tailoring.. Thanks againā
